A description of the piece by Composer-in-Residence Kerry Andrew:
I interviewed several volunteers and asked them to talk about their personal responses to the House. I then came to the House and recorded some sounds: creaking floorboards, and improvisations on the three keyboard instruments: the 2 harpsichords and and the spinet, including lots of percussive and string-playing. The only other thing you hear on the track is my voice, recorded at home to add an extra layer. I then took everything home and sifted, sorted and arranged into this 9-minute track, which I see as a portrait of the House, made by the House itself - I like that I have got the three keyboard instruments playing a trio even though they're in different rooms!
