The House
The Handel House Museum is located on the upper floors of 25 and 23 Brook Street. Since Handel's occupancy, there have been substantial changes to 25 Brook Street (see History of the House). Now a meticulous restoration project has restored as faithfully as possible the early Georgian interiors Handel would have known.
23 Brook Street, the upper floors of which were home to rock legend Jimi Hendrix 1968-9, provides a space for changing exhibitions and events. The house was part of the same development as number 25 and has been restored accordingly.
The museum visit is a tour through Handel's home introducing the visitor to the composer, his music and his time through displays of fine and decorative arts including important works from the Handel House Collection.
For more information on the house, the restoration project and the collection, the Handel House Companion is available from the shop.
