In 1968 Jimi Hendrix moved into the top floor flat of 23 Brook Street with his English girlfriend Kathy Etchingham. The flat is now the administrative office of Handel House Museum, and an English Heritage Blue Plaque recognises Hendrix’s residence.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Hendrix’s death in 1970, Handel House presented Hendrix in Britain. With rarely seen exhibits, images and music, the exhibition traced his meteoric rise to fame in London and his lasting impact on rock music.
